AfricaFiles' programmes and website are independent, and not subsidized by any government, foundation, or company. In order to make the whole service available as widely as possible, including to subscribers in Africa, we do not charge for membership.

We do ask for a voluntary subscription from those who can afford it: (individuals $50/year, organizations $100) . Although 95% of the work is done by about 30 volunteers, we have writers, a web tender and a part-time administrative staffperson to pay.

You can make your voluntary subscription or donation by cheque or credit card on a secure web site.
