Free E-mail Service

InfoServ Africa InfoServ is a free e-mail information service. It features up-to-date reports on African events, issues and people, drawn from a variety of sources, including News From Africa, All Africa News Agency, IRIN, New People, SARDC, Inter-Press Service, Women's E-News and E-Africa as well as other news groups and individuals.

To see the most recent articles in any category click one of the categories from the left-hand column OR on a region or country on the map of Africa. You may also subscribe to an RSS feed of the most recent posting from all the different categories here (or subscribe to one of our thematic RSS feeds here).

To subscribe to one or more of the 18 categories, click on the Membership & Subscription Form.

Africa InfoServ subscribers - who currently number about 1200 - receive approximately three articles per month for each category they choose. All articles are also posted on our InfoServ pages (listed above), and all older articles may be found in our searchable Africa Archive.

The 19 categories currently featured in Africa InfoServ were chosen following a subscriber poll in 2001. They reflect major geopolitical regions and topical challenges in Africa today as well as our members' particular areas of interest and engagement. While regional categories are likely to remain more or less the same, topical and country focus categories have changed over time and are likely to do so again - in response to changing conditions and a dynamic activist agenda.

Some articles are longer and more analytical. In general these are not mailed to our subscribers, although if we believe they are important, subscribers will be notified of their presence on our website via email. Such articles are marked with an icon of a magnifying glass ( Longer, analytical article. ) next to their titles.
